Tonight I received a call from my friend’s elementary school aged daughter. She called to tell me that she wants to help us raise money for Ethiopia. She attends a public school and she is willing to get on the loud speaker during announcements and tell the entire school (about 600 kids) all about our family and our mission to Ethiopia. She also told us that she wants to help in other ways, if possible. This didn’t surprise me because my friend is raising her kids to care about others and to have compassion for people. Her daughter is concerned about the kids who don’t have shoes or enough clothing. I am thrilled that a CHILD has been spurred to action to care for the people of Ethiopia. She serves as a great example for so many other children AND adults who are unwilling to step outside of their comfort zones to help those in need.
Thank you, Lauren, for your sweet heart that cares about other people and your willingness to help us out. We are blessed!
